32 New Planets Discovered
By Christina Clements --10/19/09
Looks like we can add some new planets to the universe. European astronomers have discovered the existence of 32 new planets outside of our solar system. The number of exoplanets now stands at 400. Scientists use High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher. Its nickname is Harps. The spectrograph allows scientists to determine the mass and size of the planet based on the gravitational pull. Astronomers hope that they can find planets that resemble Earth in terms of their ability to support life.
